Home

Welcome to the online home of Shoreham Cricket Club.

Shoreham is a beautiful village in the equally beautiful Darent Valley. It’s the perfect setting for traditional village cricket, complete with a timbered pub to repair to after the game.

We have a First XI and a Second XI that both play in the Kent Village League on a Saturday, Under 11s cricket coaching on a Sunday morning and a Sunday team that plays non-league cricket.

Pavilion Our ground, screened by trees but still enjoying magnificent views, is set in the middle of the Darenth Valley golf course. The wicket, outfield and grounds are very well maintained and are a joy for players and spectators alike. Being on chalk, the ground drains very readily and so games are rarely lost to the weather.

We are a friendly club, drawing most of our players from Shoreham village and the surrounding area, but we also have players from further afield, including some who escape for a day to the countryside from London. (We can be reached by car from south or south east London in under half an hour or by train from London Bridge or Victoria).

If you are interested in playing for the club or just want to find out more about us then do get in touch.

Visitors are always welcome at home matches. See our Fixtures page for details of our upcoming games. Most Saturday games start at 2.00pm and Sunday games at 2.30pm. Our tea interval is usually around 4.30pm or 5.00pm, and visitors are always welcome to join us for a cuppa!

Junior Section

The Junior Section aims to provide an enjoyable introduction to the game for local children, and, for the more experienced, to complement other organised coaching. Sessions commence on Sunday 4 May and run until Sunday 27 July, starting at 9.00am and finishing at 10.30am. Please visit our Juniors page for more information.

Dorset Tour 2010

The infamous Shoreham Cricket Tour takes place every season and is always a highlight for those involved. In the past we have toured Wiltshire, Shropshire, Norfolk and the Isle of Wight. For a flavour of last year’s tour check out the Official Tour Report. This year we will be touring Dorset over three days from Tuesday 29 June to Friday 2 July.

Annual Dinner

Our Annual Dinner is held as a local social affair and all non-playing members and partners are most welcome. This year it will be held on Saturday 15 November at the Darenth Valley Golf Club from 7.00pm.

The Pub

After matches we get our refreshment at Ye Olde George Inn back in the village. It is the first pub you see as you come into the village from the cricket ground, opposite Shoreham Church. Ye Olde George Inn are the kind sponsors of our League cricket balls.
