Sun 29 April - Acme

Posted on 30th April in 2007, Friendly Match Reports

The Sunday XI was able to toast the first victory of the season after fine batting and bowling performances against Acme. Shoreham batted first and amassed an impressive 246 mainly due to a partnership of 113 between Nick Walker Snr (59) and Nick Pearce (61). This was followed by some Kamikaze running by John Dinnis who decided there was a single straight back to the bowler. The recovery work came in the shape of another fine partnership of 59 between James Trick (32) and Chris Brown (25). Acme got off to a good start and were up with run rate until the introduction of James Trick who ended with figures of 12 overs for 20 runs picking up 5 wickets. John Dinnis then wrapped up the innings in the penultimate over ending with figures of 8.3 overs for 21 runs and 4 wickets. The bowling was backed up by some solid fielding, in particular by James Asplin and Tom Palmer who both excelled taking valuable catches in the process.

Hi guys, fantastic website, well done to all involved. It would be very useful if you could add some ‘phone numbers to the contacts list so that reps from other clubs can get in touch if they need to. Keep up the good work, Alex
