KENT VILLAGE CRICKET LEAGUE (DIV 2)
Shoreham 212 FOR 6
Sissinghurst II 213 FOR 4
Shoreham did not get off to the league start they were hoping for after being inserted by Sissinghurst on a drying wicket they found it difficult to push the runs along early on.thanks to the efforts of the evergreen Nick Walker (71) and his namesake Nick Walker (49), having a 120 3rd wicket partnership. The score looked to be reaching a respectable total, with James Trick (19) and Phil Edge (28no) both hitting some lofty blows to enable the homeside to reach 212 for 6 despite the efforts of Deakin 2 for 18 and Young 2 for 25.Sissinghurst started badly loosing 2 early wickets to James Trick 2 for 39. Thanks to a resiliant innings by opener Rusling (62no) and Rawlinson (80) kept the visitors in touch with the run rate. Impetus was given by Jenkins with aquickfire 30 and a fluent 28 no by skipper Kelly saw Sissinghurst to a 6 wicket victory. Nick Walker (ngm). was the only other bowler to make inroads into the visitors batting with 2 for for 30 and Shoreham rueing the many dropped chances during Sissinghurst innings.
