SHOREHAM 174 for 9
OTFORD 119 all out

The Shoreham Sunday side made amends for the mauling given to the seconds the previous day in the league by beating Otford by 55 runs. Being invited to bat the visitors got of to a bad start loosing Nick Pearce for 6 ,but fellow opener Ray Trick remained unbeaten on 74 despite having to retire for a while after pulling a hamstring(or just to use the oxygen tent) when on 50 but returned with a runner to see the innings to a close. Richard Nash making his debut made 11 and is one for the future. Bob Stacey batting at no 4 made a valuable 31 and Russell Brooks 15. Greg chipped in with 4 and Jamie B .Tom P (golden) and George R failed to trouble the scorer. Brad (6) and Dave F (6no) stayed with Ray to the declaration.

In reply Jamie took an early wicket which brought Ben Cobb (48) who took a liking to Jamie’s leg side bowling and took him for 24 in 3 overs Dave Fletcher picked up 2 wickets for 29 and Bob Stacey dismissed the dangerous Cobb taking 1 for 22 of 8. Brad Simms then took out the middle order of Kelly (25) and Grove (3) ending with 2 for 20. Enter George Rivett who was the pick of the bowlers taking 4 wickets in 4 overs for just 8 runs by pitching the ball up and bowling an excellent line ensuring a well deserved victory.
